PBS: Market Warriors

Market Warriors, the hit national PBS series follows antiques pickers on a nationwide treasure hunt, scouring flea markets and antiques shows for vintage valuables with an eye toward selling their finds for profit at auction. I animated this open based on  art direction provided by the talented Dave Allen from National Boston.

Problem:

Convey the concept of the program, while setting it apart from competitions, American Pickers, and Salvage Hunters.

Solution:

Icons set on a nationwide maze zip around, working against the clock and each other, builds tension and surprise. The animation being mostly white and sparse of any Antiques keeps the focus on the searching movement of the icons (pickers).
